Michael Kim, Pharm.D., RPh.
Owner and President
Dr. Michael Kim is an entrepreneurial pharmacist and currently owns multiple pharmacies in the District of Columbia with his pharmacist wife, Joan Kim. Dr. Kim has been the recipient of multiple awards since graduation including the Bowl of Hygeia award, Distinguished Young Pharmacist award, Howard University College of Pharmacy Alumnus of the Year award, and the Washington DC Pharmacy Association Pharmacist of the Year. He is the current Chairman for the CARE Pharmacies Board of Directors, a Vice President of NCPA and sits on many other Boards and committees. He received his Pharm.D. from Howard University in 1998 and was part of the first ever entry-level Pharm.D. class to graduate from the College of Pharmacy. Dr. Kim enjoys serving the diverse communities of DC and advocates to keep independent community pharmacies in our communities as the most accessible healthcare providers.
Joan Kim, RPh.
Owner and Vice President
Joan Kim, RPh is the co-owner and vice president of Grubb's Pharmacy. She is originally from Manhattan and is a graduate of St. John’s University School of Pharmacy. Joan has worked in various hospital and retail settings, but had a desire to provide a higher quality of patient care and service, which led her to open Main Street Pharmacy in Laurel, MD and then Ellicott City Pharmacy in Ellicott City, MD. She has since sold her practices in Maryland to join husband, Michael Kim, at Grubb's and Morgan's pharmacies. She brings with her a vast array of knowledge and experience on nutrition, lactation and postpartum care, as well as compounding. Joan is the proud mother of six children and loves reading, walking, traveling and cooking.
Immunization Program Clinical Coordinator
Damika Walker, PharmD, is the Pharmacist-In-Charge at Grubb's Pharmacy NE in Washington, DC. Dr. Walker received a Bachelor of Arts in chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (2006) and her Doctor of Pharmacy from Howard University College of Pharmacy (2015). Upon graduating from pharmacy school, she embarked on a post-graduate internship with the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy and Giant Eagle Pharmacy which primarily focused on implementing clinical programs in a community pharmacy practice setting. During the summer of 2018, Dr. Walker joined the Grubbs Pharmacy NE team as their Immunization Program Clinical Coordinator, and in less than four months, she was promoted to Pharmacist-In-Charge. Her involvement with the immunization program at Grubb’s afforded her the opportunity to join the ImmunizeDC Coalition where she now serves as the chair of the coalition. A servant leader at heart, Dr. Walker has a passion to serve her community both through her profession as well as through her church ministry. She is a proud wife and mother of two beautiful children.
